Bilal Simms has been helping people fight addiction for over 11 years. He has been a member of NJCA (New Jersey Counseling Association) since 2014 and the NAADAC (National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors)
Bilal began his career as an entry-level employee at the John Brooks Recovery Center where he developed a desire to help people struggling with addiction. He made the choice to focus his education on addiction, ultimately earning
his Master of Science in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University.
As Clinical Director, Bilal oversees the clinical staff ensuring that each patient entering Sunrise Detox receives the treatment that will help save their life.
Amanda Coffey, RN, BSN, Director of Nursing
Amanda Coffey, RN, BSN is Director of Nursing for Sunrise Detox Cherry Hill. She supervises the nursing staff, assesses patients for signs and symptoms of withdrawal, advocates for patient comfort and safety, and implements
new procedures to make transitions in the facility as safe and as effective as possible.
Raised in Sicklerville (Winslow Township), Amanda attended Salem Community College, Gloucester County College, and Walden University, where she graduated with honors. She fully understands life in New Jersey, and has witnessed
addiction in her own family as well as her community.
Amanda self identifies as a "people person" who cares deeply for her patients and staff. She believes “everyone deserves to be treated the same way, regardless of who they are.”
Morgan Muraresku, LAC, MA, NCC, Service Director
The Service Coordinator supports patients throughout detox and helps identify aftercare programs that best fit individual circumstances.
Morgan earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rider University and worked within the mental health field before specializing in addiction, where she favors a holistic approach to addiction treatment.
Morgan identifies herself as a millennial and strives to help others overcome addiction while reducing the social stigma associated with addiction and addiction treatment.
Esther Carroll, CADC, Counselor
Counselor Esther Carroll, CADC is a New Jersey native, originally from Camden. She is a member of the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC), and a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) with the New Jersey
Esther is an experienced addiction treatment professional, with over 17 years of work experience in and around southern New Jersey including alcohol, AA, methadone, Intensive Outpatient and outpatient treatment.
A very warm and compassionate person, Esther believes strongly in the power of spirituality, and actively researches new approaches to mindfulness and healing.

Admissions Counselor, Amanda Cheltenham, chose to work in substance use treatment after seeing a close family member suffer from their addiction. While she was at Rowan College of Gloucester County, she decided to pursue her
Associates Degree in Psychology to get a closer look at the interworking’s of a person’s mind to get a better understanding of “the whole person” not just what their struggles.
As Admissions Counselor, she is one of the first faces people see at Sunrise Detox Cherry Hill. Amanda strives to instill hope into every new patient, that recovery is possible. “The Patients Keep me going, this job is
not easy and some days are harder than others but knowing that I made a difference in someone’s day, not even their life just if I made that moment better for them than I am happy.”

Originally from England, Administrative Assistant, Deltressa Smith has lived all over the world including Italy and New York. She has not only been working in substance use treatment for the last nine years, but she has also
seen alcoholism and addiction in her family. Thankfully, she has also seen recovery in her family. Watching people go from a daily struggle to a success story is what gives her hope that anyone who wants to, can recover.
